My background is very academic. My degree is in Business Studies. I then went on to work in accounts and management before going on to become a company Director. I had a lot of studying to do as part of these roles which involved studying to become chartered as well as dealing with staff and day to day aspects of the job, plus another couple of exams chucked in there for good measure!
So, how on earth did I get to being a massage therapist after achieving all I did at such a young age? Well, I was always interested in massage, for as along as I can remember. It just seemed such a calm and peaceful thing to do and I always love going for a massage. Coming from a background that I do, I completely understand stress and its effects, which to me, gives me a great basis for connecting with people who are "up to their eyes in it" and helping them to spend time on their own well being and to help them unwind. And what's best is, I absolutely love what I do, and judging from the comments on my endorsements page, I think my clients do too.
My work and advanced training has gone on to dealing with more remedial and injury related problems to help my clients get a speedy recovery and return to their normal state of well being; key for the athlete who needs to get back into their game, but also just as important to those who want to get out of pain. The satisfaction I gain out of getting my clients back to good health again is tremendous!
My qualifications include a Diploma in Holistic Massage incorporating Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology; a Diploma in Indian Head Massage; Certificates in Reiki; and, advanced training in Medical Massage and Sports Massage, including soft tissue and stretching.
It also comforts my clients to know that I have enhanced disclosure, meaning my background and records have been thoroughly checked by Police National Computer, a requirement when working with children and vulnerable adults.
